Reports To: Director of Operations and Assistant Production Manager

We are a handmade biscuit company with a small family of bakers, honoring the tradition of southern biscuit making, and forging new traditions for those we serve.

We are looking for bakers who have a passion for culinary art, and an understanding of bakery processes, to join our team.

Position Summary:

Our Bakers rotate throughout several tasks within the production of our products while adhering to food safety and quality procedures. Our bakers prepare a variety of biscuits and other available items in large quantities for distribution, as well as for use in our retail locations. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary based on business needs. On occasion, and based on order demands, this position may require extended and/or weekend hours, especially during the holiday months.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Read, understand, and follow recipes
  • Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients; mix, prepare, bake, and package products
  • Loading and unloading baking ovens
  • Put away food order deliveries
  • Operate kitchen equipment and monitor temperature & speed settings
  • Follow weekly/daily production plan to maintain order demand and par levels
  • Ensure all equipment is working properly before each use and inspect after each cleaning
  • Keep bakery clean and organized at all times; restock workstations as needed
  • Wash dishes; clean and sanitize equipment and storage areas
  • Ensure daily cleaning and sanitizing of the bakery is complete
  • Consistently apply company procedures per the employee handbook, company policies, and health & safety regulations


  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations including compliance records, receiving logs, temperature logs, cleaning records, expiration dates, ingredients used, and lot codes as instructed
  • Follow all food safety procedures


  • Must enjoy a fast-paced environment
  • Requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, and twisting
  • Most duties are performed while standing
  • Requires repetitive motion with hands and arms
  • Exposure to various temperature changes


  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Culinary certification preferred
  • Minimum of 1-year kitchen experience is required; Baker or cook preferred
  • Experience with high volume food production is a big plus, but not required
  • Ability to interpret, understand, and follow recipe directions
  • Strong working knowledge of bakery ingredients & formulas and professional kitchen equipment
  • Ability to understand the proper procedures during production
  • Able to read, write, and demonstrate general math skills
  • Clear understanding of the food industry, food safety practices, and proper sanitation procedures
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work around order demands, including extended and weekend hours during peak seasons
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
