A Southerner's Gift Guide

Rule #1 for being a party guest – never show up empty handed! Here in the South, we believe that simple tomatoes from your garden, a jar of whipped homemade butter, or beautiful embroidered cocktail napkins are all acceptable hostess gifts. But what do you give when someone has everything they need? They answer for any given Southerner: food.
Hot Little Tip: no gift if complete without a handwritten note!
I'm rounding up my favorite gifts for Southerners, whether they be your hostess, graduate, a parent, or caregiver.
For the hostess:
