Carrie's Party Mix
From Carrie Morey's Hot Little Suppers cookbook
Ingredients
- 14 oz Chex Wheat Cereal
- 3 bags Sharp Cheddar Biscuit Crackers
- 7.5 oz Bugles
- 2 cups pretzels
- 1 cup roasted peanuts
- 1 cup corn nuts
- 2 ½ sticks salted butter
- Seasoning blend (See below)
- 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1.5 tbsp hot honey
I love a homemade Chex mix even more than the store-bought kind. It’s easy to customize and lets you use whatever crackers and mix-ins you love most. For this version, I used our sharp cheddar crackers along with Bugles, pretzels, Chex cereal, and corn nuts, creating the perfect balance of crunch in every bite.
Everything gets tossed in a bold seasoning blend with plenty of butter and a drizzle of hot honey for just the right kick. The result is a crunchy, salty, slightly spicy snack that’s impossible to stop eating. It’s perfect for game days, gatherings, or keeping on hand as an easy snack at work.
Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven to 250ºF. Prepare three baking sheets by lining with parchment paper.
-
In a small sauce pan, combine butter, worcestershire sauce, hot honey, and seasoning blend. (Blend includes 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1.5 tbsp chili powder or cayenne, 1.5 tbsp paprika). Melt the butter mixture over medium heat.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine all the mix ingredients: Chex Wheat cereal, Sharp Cheddar Biscuit Crackers, Bugles, pretzels, roasted peanuts, and corn nuts. Drizzle over the melted seasoned butter. Immediately mix with your hands or a rubber spatula until all pieces are evenly coated with the seasoned butter.
-
Pour the seasoned party mix onto the lined baking sheets, making sure that each has as even a layer as possible. Bake the mix for 1 hour.
-
Once baked, allow to cool completely before serving or packaging in a sealed container. Enjoy!
