Marshmallow Turtle Dip
From Carrie Morey's Hot Little Suppers cookbook
Ingredients
- 12 Cinnamon Biscuits
- ½ cup caramel sauce
- 8 oz cream cheese
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup mini marshmallows
Have you ever wanted a really easy fondue-style dessert that comes together quickly and is perfect for sharing with the whole family? That’s exactly what inspired this skillet. I wanted something fun, cozy, and interactive, without a long ingredient list or complicated steps.
This fondue skillet brings together all the flavors of a classic turtle pie, think chocolate, caramel, and nuts, then adds mini marshmallows for extra gooey goodness. Served with warm biscuit “dippers” for dipping, it’s a simple, crowd-pleasing dessert that feels special without any extra effort.
Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Prepare a cast iron skillet by greasing with butter. Line the outer edge of the skillet with Cinnamon biscuits, creating a circle with an open center.
-
In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, caramel sauce, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer to whip until fully combined and an airy texture is reached. Transfer the mixture to the center of the skillet. Top the cream cheese mixture with chocolate chips.
-
Bake the biscuits and dip for 20 minutes. About halfway through, pull out the skillet and add the mini marshmallows to the top of the dip, then continue baking for the remaining time.
-
Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before enjoying!
